nah

dont see the point in something like that. Me arms are far more efficient at doing said job ;)

Ive got some gas struts kicking about in the garage that i did buy to do that job on the L200 but could never be bothered.
 
New rear springs just arrived. Light load +2" length. The current ones are off a wolf and are BASTID hard. Yeah they lift it, but they barely compress when hitting bumps and the whole vehicle shudders with it. Thats with a heavy roof tent on the back n orl which did mildly improve it but even so.... its presently awful.

I had these on my last 110 and it rode beautifully over the potholes in the drive :)
 
Which ones did you go for ? I guess wolf are designed for a full 110 with squaddies and kit and guns and ammo and more guns and ammo and more guns and ammo and.... mars bars,,,

yer... mars bars were always better than ration packs when I was in the TA haha.

Went for some unbranded ones. Im not picky! haha £50 delivered for the pair. Main thing to investigate was the spring rate which I chose 275 lb/in which compared to some of the "heavy load" springs at 440lb/in should be somewhat softer!

Its already got procomp dampers on the rear though Ill probably rip these off and fit big bore dampers like I have on the front.

ive never fitted a glass to a vehicle before.... if i hear no horror stories i shall speak none ;)
 
ill be honest the 85% we did was easy to do ... there was a chip in the edge of the laminate which gave way + plus it was a 1980s poor quality glass compared to modern stuff....

im gonna give it a go again , i will how ever cry if it goes pop !

right well thats the bonnet all fitted and adjusted and it looks loads better

Also just this minute fitted the windscreen. First one I have ever done. Took about 2 hours and alot of learning!!!

I used a Britpart seal and to be honest - fitting it was not a problem. The biggest ball ache was the initial fitting it to the windscreen on the table. The pulling a bit of string bit on the car took all of 5 minutes and worked first time!

Really pleased as having one fitted "proffesionally" is quite expensive. So its another skill learnt :)

doing mine sunday !

i did my last one - but the guy showing me how to do it did say before we started it would likely crack from the chip on the edge of the laminate on the passengers side - and it sure did !

What controller are you using for the screen ? ive been debating where to put the carling switch on mine -its alot bigger than expected.

The edge on my heated screen where the heated strip comes off looked awful but there is a rubber paint like substance over it which i would presume would stop any chip from spreading.

Alot of people are saying use a genuine oem seal but I found the britpart one just fine. The windscreen kit came with a bearmach seal which i found to be poorer quality than the britpart one.

Kit came with a digital controller and carling switch with all the wiring loom set up - red bison or something its called? The kit was £270 though!

i just dabbed a bit of neat washing up liquid on the seal just before putting it in and rubbed it round with my finger.

There was no swearing at this bit.

Lots of swearing getting the seal on the glass in the kitchen mind! In the end I found the best tool to be a plastic push bike tyre lever for seperating the edge of the seal and sliding it on :)
