New Member (Feel A Bit Of A Fraud; I own a Subaru!)

Not sure if I ought to be admitted, but I've joined this forum as I like all things 4x4 and (here's the problem!) I don't own a Land Rover, Range Rover, Discovery, Defender, Series 1 or any other British made 4x4. What I DO own is a 2011 2 litre petrol Subaru 4x4 Forester, which is a bloody good vehicle, whatever one thinks of Japanese technology!

If this disqualifies me, fair play to you! If not, I promise to offer trenchant remarks on driving a 4x4 and other driving matters, and look forward to being accepted to the forum.

Hello and welcome from me

You won't be able to buy spares for that in the future as most cars probably.
Get a tratter and bits are available off the shelf everywhere in the world nearly for models going back to the middle of the last century.
We have members that don't even own a landrover, some live on boats some are gay , they are all welcome.

Thanks! looking forward to learning more about THE famous 4x4s! I recently read an interesting statistic that over 80% of all the Subarus sold in the UK are still in use. If this is so, it's a pretty good indication of the vehicles' inherent build quality. Mind you, I see many more Land rovers and its younger offspring that Subarus when I'm driving about.

Welcome to LZ matey we just sold a forester with the timing belt slipped, there are mountains of spares for them
& I agree they are very good cars, I like jap cars (shhhhh lol) I own an evo & a couple of old fords & 3 landy's
As said previously plenty people on here don't own land rovers but stay here as its a great forum

Several years after registering on this Forum, I've been doing some "green laning" on Dartmoor! I have family friends, who live near Tavistock and when last we visited I took the opportunity to take the Subaru on a "bit of a run" from Mary Tavy to Brentor. The route, classified as "unfit for motors" goes from the village of Mary Tavy, up onto the Dartmoor National Park, down into a valley in which the River Tavy runs, where it goes over the river and two disused railway lines, then up a VERY steep track, to eventually emerge near Brentor.
