Good morning everyone, just got my very first Landrover, 1983 series 3 petrol SWB, which needs full restoration ……

Very new to all this so have lots of questions to ask.

1. Where are the best places to get either good condition or new genuine parts?

2. Does anyone know if there are any Landrover enthusiasts near King Lynn (Norfolk)?

Welcome to Landyzone burping and breaking wind club.
Have look at Rimmer Bros John craddock, there's a few more our regulars also can offer. If you can try get hold of parts manual as well.
Not sure any enthusiasm for land rover driving in Norfolk area, as traction engine and pulled vehicles by horses seem more common.😂😂

Series123 club or Series2 club might be worth joining.
New genuine parts will be few and far between, also expensive.
Good supply of most parts available aftermarket of varying quality.

P a Blanchard for original parts
Yrm for new high quality reproduction parts
Paddock spares are very good for pattern parts , in stock and supplied quickly.
Land rover treasure for obscure parts.

All of the above are very good companies to do business with.

It is my opinion that in recent years Britpart have upped their game, doing more testing on the parts that suppliers send and rejecting the poor stuff.
There is also the issue of " Fake" stuff. Had some Brake cylinders from on line site that claimed to be from well known supplier "Delphi" on the box. The bores for the pistons was oval:eek: Utter rubbish

I have LandRover Supermarket near me, not always the cheapest but handy that you can just pop in.
Have look around your local area.
O, and welcome to the forum.

I bought a pair of brake calipers from Paddocks thinking they would send Britpart. What turned up was labelled PEAC. You could bleed them as much as you like, they wouldn't work, both failed straight out of the box.
Bought some Britpart ones which worked just fime.
