I get random locks/unlocks too. When I use my doorbell my neighbours bell sounds too.
I have the antenna removed at the moment but there is still a battery drain and I also get some random lock/unlocks while we are in the car so I think its dodgy door-lock switch-packs as it fails to register on the EKA process.
Its usually the drivers door one that goes (I think). So I am heading towards that. Will run Marty's checklist first and squirt some contact cleaner around in gay abandon.
Got a brand new drivers side unit in reserve so I am hoping it will fix the problem if all else fails. It is sitting looking at me as I type.

I unplugged my fob aerial originally too. Weather station was doing mine. Anyway, didn't help it. Burnt 3 lots of locks out before I bit the bullet and bought the new (gen 3) receiver. No issues since.

Right, I towed the car to the workshop this evening and told the mechanic about the fuel pump rewiring and the remote receiver thing. They will look into it first thing tomorrow.

Another thing, I had left car with the battery charger plugged in this week and when I got home from work late last night, I found the car with the direction indicators on (not flashing, constant light). I pressed the unlock button on the remote and they went off. Anybody recognize this? Is it related to the battery problem as well? I feel like it could have something to do with the RF receiver but I don't know the car very well yet so I wouldn't know. I do know that my fathers house, where my car has been parked at since I bought it, is absolutely riddled with wireless functions for things like doorbells and interior lights and whatnot.

Sounds like something triggered the alarm. I think the ultrasound sensors can act up. Think I disabled mine using the Nanocom. Pity you're not closer or I could plug it in and have a look for you.

Test the door locks here is a test sheet from Martyuk on here, and do the cheep reciever mod and put the money saved towards a Nanocom.

Ok, here's an update on the situation. I called up the workshop yesterday and the mechanic told me hasn't been able to diagnose the car because they don't have the proper obd tool for it and thus haven't been able to access the computer. They also told me the alarm went off a few times (with the sounder) but that the battery is fine, although they couldn't say what is draining it.

And today I called the dealer and told him I will take the car to him and he can either get it fixed or take it back. He claims they have had absolute zero troubles with the battery draining or alarm going off while it was at the dealers, and also implies it may yet be a bad battery problem. He agreed to have it looked over in their workshop at their expense, but stated that if any parts are needed I must pay for them, but I will dispute that when it comes to that.

I've ordered a syncmate for now, so hopefully I can just drive it back over there. In the meantime I'm going to try the becm sleep test and maybe disconnect the aerial and see if that makes any difference. I might also try that door latch test if I have some spare time.

The little black box under the rear parcel shelf should have a green sticker on it. If it is blue or yellow it is the old type of receiver and will be prone to interference. Brian's second fob trick is the cheapest fix.

The only real way of working out which receiver you have is to take them apart and look in side it, easy to do here is what you should be looking for

I think someone (Marty?) said the latest generation 3 receivers only have a single board again, rather than 2 at right-angles. It is the part number that is important.

There are 2 versions of the latest receiver, which has the same part number.

The first has the right angled boards, and the second just has a single board, but it looks different to the original version. I think they refined the second revision of the 3rd gen receiver because they didn't realise how many had actually sold/how many P38's were still on the road! Sadly that also meant that they figured it was a good opportunity to bump the price up and make a tonne of profit, on an issue they knew about during production years...

That's a surprise not

I have a Nanocom...located about 50 km East of Stockholm. Just send me a mail if it's close enough
