Just go for the halfrauds +90% extrene brightness bulbs. Standard wattage and 90% more light. Most peeps find a significant improvement. I have.

They aint illegal dude-theyre E marked for christs sake, only illegal if theyre blue

E-marked - yes... ROAD legal - no

And for my headlight upgrade i had to upgrade all my wiring

Also its currently illegal (as far as im aware, unless they changed it very recently) to install HID/Bi Xenon headlights on a vehicle that wasnt manufactured with them for use on public roads

The use of blue lights on any vehicle other than a emergency service vehicle is illegal.
Vehicles should have white lamps at the front, red lamps at the rear or it will fail an MOT.
The use of bulbs other than 60/55watts is illegal on the public highway.
The use of HID lamps is illegal unless the vehicle is equiped with headlamps designed for them and has self-leveling headlamps or suspension.

So as stated above, use white so call Xenon bulbs which are halogen bulbs with the addition of a small pocket of xenon gas so brighter.

At last. Some more posts from peeps wot know!

drippy - no discount as 2 for 1 offer at the mo. Still not cheap at £24 for 2 tho, but having got them in my 200tdi discos - a marked improvement and well worth it.

Halfrauds do a blue "tinge" headlight which is road legal, but i think it is only standard light output.

its gonna be WAY too much hassle putting propper HID lights on your truck (i toyed with the idea but after some research decided against it) just spend a fiver on some halogen "xenon" bulbs, I had a choice of cool blue or ice white and know that the plod will pull you if they are too blue (impersonating an emergency vehicle - in a black modded disco - go figure!) my local plod pull holliday makers that have had itallic/illegal number plates for years in england with no problems as soon as they cross the border! especially bikes they hate em! North wales police, bless em, not enough "real crime" down here for em. They will arrest someone for a joint rather than let them off with a caution just to keep thier figures up (otherwise thier superiors assume they are getting too friendly with the locals and move them away). Anyway ive got the cool blue ones and never had a pull because of them and thats in north wales but compared to my old "drug dealer" BMW this motors pretty low key.:)

Ive even seen a lot of boy racers in the area that have blue LEDs attached to thier window washers.

Your choice even if you get some that are legal do you want to draw the attention of some overkeen plod to your motor? Suppose it depends on where you live and what the police are like around you.

We sell all the bulbs at work, 100/80 are illegal, blue or standard colour. The deep blue 60/55 are illegal too. Best LEGAL alternatives are the Xenon +100%, we sell the Ring ones. You can get the 'tinted' blue 60/55 which are legal and give a slightly blue look, similar to the HID's.

got a set of 60/55w ice blue from halfords today. they aren't actualy blue lights, just dont have that yellow glow like normal ones. pretty good, which is a suprise with halfords! just for the record, i didnt want to look chavvy or anything with the blue tint, i just like the 'daylight' look they give on the new RR and find them alot easier to drive at night with. Also, halfords has a BOGOF offer on headlights at the moment
