If you can blag an off-road day with an LR off-road experience company, do it. Find out exactly what your lanny and more so you, are capable of, in a controlled, insured, environment, in someone else's vehicle. :) Then, when you jump in your own girl you'll be aware of what will get you into trouble, and what will get you out of it :)

Thats a cracking idea! Ive always had in the back of my head that for the first time I want someone with experience in there to guide me so sounds like the perfect environment really! Thanks again - you truly have been so helpful

Ive got a CBR650F and I sold my CB750 today although now I have the landy I am thinking this is perfect opportunity to get another CRF after I sold mine a few years back... After my wallet recovers of course

Nice bikes:D. What makes you think your wallet will recover now you have a land rover, unless the CB750 you sold was an old one.

You're more than welcome. Like I said I learned in one, and know what a beast they can be. A few years later I was on a course, part of which was on an off-road day*, and I admit the range of the vehicle nearly gave me a heart attack at some points. Especially when the only thing stopping you sitting in your passenger's lap is the seatbelt  However, it did show how far they could, and couldn't be pushed.
If you haven't driven one before, also learn your centre of gravity. Then go out on the dual carriageway, and learn that you can't pull out, or pass, or stop, as you would in a car. They're good fun once you understand them :)
Apologies if teaching you to suck eggs.

*tank testing ground:eek:

I have to ask, what’s the secret to ladies liking landies? My wife won’t go near mine...

MrsCappers took over my 2.25 petrol 90 (A99 RKM, R.I.P :() when I got a V8 90. She loved driving the 2.25, the driving position and visibility plus no nonsense from other drivers :p
She won't drive the V8 90 as its an auto which she dislikes  but enjoys being a passenger in it :D
