Are you painting it yourself?

Leave it with galvanised finish, helps keep the cost to zero plus you can say you did it in terms of rebuild.

I painted my chassis got the etch primer and chassis top coat from Arc-rite wasn't to expensive. You will also need to get Mordent T-Wash to age the fresh galv or the etch primer won't take Arc-rite do that as well.

Yes. Mordant, or weather it outside for a few months. Fresh galv is murder to get paint to stick on.

I would at least paint the rear crossmember so as not to advertise it has the new chassis.

Definitely less likely to get nicked if people don't see it is galv. And it looks much better too.

thanks guys so ill t wash( does ammonia washing do the same thing) then etch prime then a top coat, thinking white chassis with red axles and yellow suspension bits.....to much? also
TorsionBhudda did you spray the etch primer or paint it on?

I sprayed it on as I have a compressor it went on easy enough was my first time spray painting but it can be brushed on no problem which i did with some small brackets

Who did you order your chassis from?

I'll be T-washing mine (use scotchbrite when applying it), then dinitrol inside, followed by etch priming and top coating the exterior - any ideas which top coat you'll be using? I've read that Jotun 87 is very good...

i have a compressor to did you thin it down? i have got a
Sheilder Chassis coming there quite a bit cheaper,im not sure what top coat or even colour im going for yet, will prob be black tho, raptor paint looks tough

Looks good ,td5chassis toying with changing mine it's not bad but changed rear cross member should have got long leg version plated a couple of holes but would be nice not to have to worry about its condition as I intend to keep it a long time
