Are you painting it yourself?hi peeps iv just ordered me new chassis, been told it be about 3 to 4 weeks so i got time on getting paint,my question is what primer and top coat? do i use an etch primer or should i use zinsser bullseye 123,also whats raptor like? cheers guys
I painted my chassis got the etch primer and chassis top coat from Arc-rite wasn't to expensive. You will also need to get Mordent T-Wash to age the fresh galv or the etch primer won't take Arc-rite do that as well.
I would at least paint the rear crossmember so as not to advertise it has the new chassis.
I sprayed it on as I have a compressor it went on easy enough was my first time spray painting but it can be brushed on no problem which i did with some small bracketsthanks guys so ill t wash( does ammonia washing do the same thing) then etch prime then a top coat, thinking white chassis with red axles and yellow suspension bits.....to much? also
TorsionBhudda did you spray the etch primer or paint it on?
i have a compressor to did you thin it down? i have got a
Sheilder Chassis coming there quite a bit cheaper,im not sure what top coat or even colour im going for yet, will prob be black tho, raptor paint looks tough[/QUOTE
I didn't thin etch primer as was thin and sprayablr right out of the tin.

Love the grey and black. Should just fit the seatbox and seat and drive it around like that. shame to cover it with bodywork.
