Agreed Juicy gotta be in the region of 2.5K to 3.0K just to get the ****er straight on a "Decent Jig" & tracked up/4 wheel alignment ect ect ..yer gotta be looking at 1.0 to 1.5 K EASY then theres the Scrubbed tyres the upper & lower ball joints will be seriously compromised with drivin it twisted.

that leaves yer 1.5K fer the brake lines, Air Bags, CV joints, exhaust & Christ knows what else will pop outta the woodwork when you get into the "Bones" of it.

Thing is you could spend all that cash and find out the chassis is bent as a 12bob note......it may even be completely bent and and beyond sortable.....

Oh Yeah the number 1 thing to do is get it Jigged & Lasered straight

TBH I wouldn't touch it with a 25 foot electronic cattle prod if its as far out as Jay thinks it is its a KNACKER & CANNOT be repaired

Take it to a garage now asap, (body specailist) get it all measured and checked to see how far the chassis is "bent" then you will no if its worth doing, this is not a problem at all and nothin to worry about, id defanatly do it before you settle any offer and also if you have measurement etc etc you have a little more to go on with the trader, have you done a HPI report to check if its been in a bad accident and put back on the road cheaply??

THE TRADER SHOULD OF DONE THIS,

I am calm now, only after speaking to Fanatic I might add.

IF and its a big "IF" the car is repairable and he will have it repaired then I will be happy and any issues will have been resolved. But I will want all issues resolved as in the oil leak, buggered air bags on the suspension and any other things that are found.

sorry but a car in this state, even repaired i would not be happy,i bet you have paid good money for this car.
it has been weakened by an impact of sorts, and even straightened,it will still be weak,i would try and push for a full refund, and walk away.

Don't know why everyone is on about chassis jigs and alignment. 5mm difference on the wheel base side to side is hardly a chassis jig job.

All this stuff about fixin it and trusting afterwards it is a major distraction. The more you consider this the lower your expectations will be. Thats what the trader will hope for. Its mind games time.

You have been stiffed. Get your money back. Accept nothing less. Dont be distracted - up the anti and quickly.

even if the car is fixed up properly i for one would never trust it !!!

I dont agree with this... any car that is repaired properly by qualified garages etc will be as good as new, do any of us no what out current vehicals have been threw?? i used to work for kia and Merc (and merc trucks) and some of the brand new unregisterd vehicals that arrive with major damage get repaired and sold as BRAND NEW and the owners have never known about it and never returned with problems, sooo the last few posts have been decent people not knowing what they are talking about,
I AGREE Jay should get his money back as he didnt want to buy a damaged vehical, but its NOT a complete rite off... The thread has been side tracked.

i agree.had a relative of mine who did an accident with his vw golf, they cut the front of the chassis rails the two sides, welded new bars with bolts and re inforcements and cross members and his car returned good as new and even stronger than before, the same with me old man in his mercury tracer that was hit on the side front fender and the whole front side of the car was twisted, got that repaired and straightened again, and nothing was affected in the handling or driving,he bought the car brand new from the showroom for 2 months and ended up hiting it?scraping it for that hit i wouldn't agree.
jay ur car is repairable,we r talking of a range rover, how the chassis will be weak, come on guys u know how much tough is the range rover,no way that axle or chassis was twisted from an accident,i am sure it won't be that of a serious twist, the chassis of the range rover is among the strongest chassis in the world, maybe a car previously hit the rear tire and ended up moving or bending the chassis rail,it is only 5mm as it has been said.
jay just wait few more days, take and accept ur car continue loving it and throw some money at it.when it comes to airbags they seem that they never had been changed and they r due, mine was with the 15 years old never replaced airbags, one more thing to add, consider that u saw that the airbags were bad and u loved the car,u wouldn't have bought it coz of bad airbags, and oil leaks??we r talking of a used car,and any used car will be a money pit at the begining of ownership.i say if the engine,tranny,t/box,vc coupling, diffs, paint work inhterior is good keep the damn thing.
