Need more power from the 200tdi

I have a Defender 110 with a 200tdi and I have done a Twisted Stage 1 upgrade but now feel I need more power is there anyway to further increase the overal power. Some how feel that the initial grunt is less and need to really press the pedal to get the Landy moving!

hi what size tyres do you run? also what boost presure are you running ? standard or full size intercooler? exhaust system ?? engine condition ?? all need to be in good order !!! gas flowing head . valve springs. larger turbo . how far do you want to go ?????

yeah only takes 5 mins.

im thinking about building a better 200tdi engine. forged pistons bigger turbo... etc should give enough power. lol

Running at present 265/70/16s will be upgrading to 285/75/16s tyres. Don't know how much is the boost pressure, do not have a boost gauge (how do you fit one?) The engine is in great condition. Wouldn't mind a bigger turbo. Cannot go in for a full size intercooler as I need the AC more! Hence both will not fit.

Straight through pipe to replace middle box, silicon hoses, KN filter, turned boost pressure up to 0.9 bar, turned diaphram 1/4 turn in injection pump and mine now goes like **** off a stick

thanks mate will do the needful. Already have silicon hoses and ss pipes. Need to straight through pipe but confused as I originally had a 2.5NA engine with the original exhaust and then upgraded to the 200tdi with the same exhaust except the headers from the 200tdi. so should I order a straight through pipe for a 2.5na or a 200tdi?
