RoW spec, these are vehicles destined for third world countries and as a result have the simpler 300tdi engines fitted. there is very little or no infrastructure for ECU's so TD5 and puma engines would not sell. as a result the 300tdi engines are used for these vehicles and you can pick up nearly new 300tdi land rovers

as i understand it though you would need to do a few mods to make them legal in the EU as they CoC so they are a bit of a headache in that respect. but if the plan is to use it to drive around the world these defenders are ideal, as they are built to be more rugged and less complex than the newer ones.



what you have to understand though is that land rover engines, especially the likes of the 300tdi, are very very solid engines. a tdi with 60k miles on the clock is nearly new and low mileage, that is barely a run in for the engine. these engines can and do go past the 300k mile mark!

We can have a new 300TDI engine, so when I say YES to Defender:mad: we can buy older TD5 and swap engine.
I should go to do shopping instead of chatting with you about cars..I must be a mad.
