Perhaps I would, but if so you would have agreed first that you did a bad thing, and we would have kept it within our unit .... and that would have been that.
If I'm wrong I will admit it. If I owe someone an apology I will say "sorry".
And as for being a rupert at heart, well, I can't help that. It was the result of an accident of birth.
In fact, when I joined up I joined the RMP (DUCK!) as as an acting lance-corporal (unpaid) because I got a a stripe right away and the RMPs had lots of motorbikes, pistols, sten-guns, a few rifles, LandRovers, a couple of Champs, trucks, and NO bugger tried to mess with us. Basically, we knew where we stood because everyone hated us equally. Then "they" spotted my CV and threw me out to be an officer ....
