Bury not good enough for him, @tarphenry. Could have visited the East Lancs Railway while he was there and popped up Peel tower on Holcombe Hill.
Nothing wrong with Bury was there a few months ago for the unveiling of Scotsman and used to be a regular visitor when grandad was still alive as one of his friends used to drive there when I was young. However every mile counts in a V8 ;) Plus the day pass to get away to mess with cars isn't always as easy to get as it could be!

morning wammy , doesn't the book icon/symbol denote aircon system only ??????

In this case Mozz it appears to be a system fault, have checked the usual relay 7 and swapped it just in case. Pollen filters are new. The Aircon does actually work (shock horror) and the drivers side works perfectly in all modes, its just sadly the passenger side just blows cold air and will not go warm regardless of any changes to the controls so I'm pretty sure its a stuck blend motor but I feel before ripping the car to bits it would be great to get it on a diagnostic rather than guessing. It is ironic that with my old P38 which the aircon didn't work the condenser like a cheese grater, although a garage that pressure tested it with air for me did manage to get enough pressure that the compressor did kick in but for the two days a year of sun we get it didn't seem worth replacing the condenser etc that it didn't throw a book icon fault on the display.

Morning Mozz. It means there is a fault in the heating/aircon system yes. More than often a faulty blend or distribution motor. When the ignition is turned on the Hevac does a self check, if detects a problem it puts up the book symbol. You have to read the ECU to find out what that fault is.

ok, wammy , its just that I thought I had read somewhere that it was specific to air con unit / operation only not blend motors etc must be these new glasses !!!!!!!!!!!! hope u n sue ok

Without aircon there is just a heating and ventilation control unit. HEV. When car has aircon it has an HEVAC unit that controls both functions. Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning. ;)
