1999 Range Rover 2.5 DSE

Had this girl for what must be 4 years. 200,000 on the clock on still going strong.

2002 Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG

Only picked her up on Tuesday and already I am intoxicated by the thing. Managed to really drive down the price because she isn't concourse condition (all easy and cheap to fix, I did my research first). I imagine this will be the vehicle I am driving when I either lose my licence for speeding or wrap it around a tree and die. Either way I will go with a smile on my face.

Very nice, my friend has a 2002 SLK AMG which goes like the stink. Ony the 3.2 with 350bhp I think. Only problem is merc spent very little money on improvig brakes, steering and cornering so a BMW M3 would leave it for dead. But smiles per pound is very high!!! Hope the rust is being kept at bay as that was another issue!!

Look out for rust, my mates Merc was condemned at about 8 years old as the rust underneath was so extensive it was beyond economic repair.

I didn't stop smiling during a 300 mile trip today. Absolutely amazing bit of kit. Comfortable as anything, but when it came to going around someone that sound track and the way it goes from 50 to somewhat over 50 is just something else.

So all I have found is the early signs of bubbling around the sun roof, so I have spoken to Merc about getting it sorted. They are going to give it a full once over while they are at it to make sure there isn't any more nasty surprises developing.

In this scenario the garage is a fantasy, since neither vehicle will fit in my double garage.

Make sure they check all the suspension mounting points.

Rodger that. I had a look at the dealership as I remember you mentioning the excellent Merc build quality a while back but without a ramp it wasn't exactly a brilliant inspection.

Only in the sense that I no longer have an AMG. I'd get my money back from the dealership faster than it gets to 60.
