Yanks, don't ya just love em!!! Their comical innocence, and they take the English language/place names so literally!! One I met asked if Burming-Ham was in London, which he thought was a country of the UK!

I had some great laffs with 1 Para, met a few in Headley Court. They're a breed that are 1 in a million, pyscos too but what a crack!!

Anyone remember when we had a traditional 4X4 Class in the old Lombard RAC Rally? Well well before Audi Quattros it was.

There was a team of Paras in Canvas topped LandRovers - can't remember which year though.

They were spectacular in Kielder Forest - on 2 wheels at times and they were 'yumping' over the crests with the best of the Scandinavians in the Mk1 Escorts.

The Para service crew were great guys - brilliant fun - I'll never forget how they described the actual drivers - "Mad as snakes, every one."

Pronounced - 'Snoikes' by the way. ;)

We didn't plan on going out but we just wanted to take it out to see if the EWP was doing its thing before hitting the big roads :).

I'm going to organise some camping/laning weekends when the weather warms up for anyone interested. Open to all ofcourse :). The beacons are a logical area to go exploring in :).

Cheers mate please do keep me informed.

I just googled green laning in the beacons and ALL of the results are about people trying to get us banned !!! I had no idea there was so much hostility!

Sounds like alot of it stems from pikeys in ****ted out 4x4's driving where they are not legally allowed to. Shame that reflects on all of us. I had no idea it was such a huge issue. I've always loved the countryside and would never do anything that I knew was damaging my beloved homeland, I thought laning would be another way to enjoy it but it looks like there's alot of controversey around it!
