*whoosh*
Zeaphod, a pre-December 1987 model is known as a Ninety not a 90
To be fair, the front badge would have said "Land Rover 90". 'Tis a Defender in all but name of course. Purists will argue otherwise. I've got a 110/OneTen but would still call it a Defender, although it is nice correcting people and saying: "well, it isn't a Defender in fact..." that's just sad though, admittedly. Back to me cider then!
Had to give it a name when the Discovery came out so people stopped calling them Landrover Landrovers.. of course it also gave them an excuse to build them even cheaper.. give it another 10yrs and the bodywork will be made from KitKat wrappers..It would be possible to argue that the other way round
A defender is a 90/110 in all but name!
Defender was just a badge dreamed up by some drunken marketing man, 90/110 was the original coil sprung land rover shaped Land Rover, and in keeping with the long tradition of land rovers being known by wheelbases.
Lets call a spade a spade, nice Defender you got there mate!
