I int keen on the rotating beacons either but they are the only emergency lights that are legal on non emergency vehicles and even then they have to be removed when not been used in an emergency.

Most contractors I see have them fixed on permanently :s benefit with these is you don't really notice them (and the front ones will be barely noticible once mounted properly in the grill)

You might find this interesting.

Blue Light Use

Oh and if ya lights are cheap chinese imports then they won't be type approved and therefore illegal. I know for 99% of peeps who fit em that won't mean ****! But there's always an arsey plod who hasn't met his quota that month and needs to find something to do you for so he can meet his revenue raising target..

You have to be careful that you don't get totally bogged down with regulations.

Nobody is going to bat an eyelid about those led lights mate.

If you're unlucky itll be one off. I wouldn't sweat it.

What about all the squillions of RAC, AA, recovery trucks, and general pickup trucks etc that have orange LEDs fitted?

started fitting the LED beacons yesterday, first two are installed in the grill, and working, controller is located in the map pocket above drivers sunvisor, with live feed from the interior light permanent 12v and neg feed from the interior light, wires run down the pillar and through bulkhead (had to be extended using 4ohm speaker cable) rear lights will be mounted on the gutter rail either side of tailgate, and wires run behind trim/under headlining. Just got to drill the rear pillars to feed the wires through and clamp the leds to the gutter rail. then I've two more for the light bar when it happens :)

Am I the only one with concerns about this?
Do you know the local fire brigade well?

This could end up being laid up for the winter now :( my mate who was using it & living with me insured it, he's now moved back to his house after a month of being separated, and he reckons he can't afford to insure it anymore, and I can't afford the 95 per month on a policy at this point before christmas and an impending 2nd property purchase, plus I've already got a £40 per month policy on my laguna runabout

Well I now have somewhere to store it from next weekend, My Uncles yard :) plus I've a donor vehicle for my headlamps, grill, & gearbox as I've bought my grandfathers 300tdi to break, due to failing the MOT & requiring lots of work!

If anyone's interested, I'll have a 300tdi engine complete, with about 40-50k on it since its rebuild! plus anything else you may want!

It may well be available depending on what happens.

300tdi has people interested, looks clean as a whistle outside, and I'm thinking should the body not be rusty, swapping the shell on to my 200s chassis as my 200 is suffering from tin worm. I'd then have a very very clean 200series, with the refined interior of a 300 :) and my sunroof & alpines wouldn't leak  this is the twin manual sunroof model, and is bronze, with matching interior. Mines a mish mash of blues lol.

Well just changed the passenger side doors on it, and what a pain in the derrière! (ass for those that cant translate )

The guy that took them off unbolted the hinges, and of course the plates drop then inside the door, front ones not too bad, rear ones are a night mare!

Also realised the difference between a 200 & 300 doors....... The electrical connections :( so I've had to re loom one door and re create 200 connections to the car on the front door. now I've got a CL problem - all doors lock, rear 2 don't unlock

Rear door locks are very stiff cos they have a few linkages so the locks struggle at the best if the time. I've just had a mare and have had to settle for 'central unlocking' :D

Mmm they were both fine. 1 side hasn't been touched, only thought is that it could be a broken wire? I've had to bodge a few connections as ran out of connectors, so they are twist n taped. But that shouldn't affect the door that hasn't been touched? It's both rear doors, boots fine. It's really strange?!

Anyway, pics with roof light bar on :)

It's home made btw ;) bit of box section and 2 adjustable roof bar clamps
