Could quite happily take a disc cutter to it today! went to put new rear door on, as I put the bolts in for the bottom bracket, the plate moved that's inside the body and I had a pig of a job lining it back up (after removing interior trim, and a rear light cluster! also discovered the door looms are different between 200&300 series! so I'm going to have to re loom the 300 door with the 200 loom! and the lock is broken! won't unlock (Altho after prising the mechanism out, it worked) only to re install it and it stop working) :/ however it's a nice colour the new door & I have the side doors to do now (after the boot lock has been swapped from the 200 door!

Yeah I know!

It's all done now, well I've rigged the CL motor up, changed the lock to the working one from the old door, went in easier then the old one came out. all back together relatively easy. next job will be swap the door glass over as the heated rear windscreen wiring runs both sides on the 300 where as the 200 is one side (and the loom don't reach to both sides) plus need a new seal on the window & the 200 screen has all my stickers on. then it's rig up the wiper motor, and job done. Only thing that's annoyed me is the 300 uses different plugs for the wiper motor etc then the 200.

started fitting the LED beacons yesterday, first two are installed in the grill, and working, controller is located in the map pocket above drivers sunvisor, with live feed from the interior light permanent 12v and neg feed from the interior light, wires run down the pillar and through bulkhead (had to be extended using 4ohm speaker cable) rear lights will be mounted on the gutter rail either side of tailgate, and wires run behind trim/under headlining. Just got to drill the rear pillars to feed the wires through and clamp the leds to the gutter rail. then I've two more for the light bar when it happens :)

Awesome mate. I helped a mate fit a set of amber beacons to his hilux the other day (he is using it for gritting in the winter) and it gave me the wants! :D

Well the new spotlights have arrived (£32) from EBay, Winch Bumper, 2 isolating switches, 4 way fuse holder and the battery terminal clamps, all I need now is the switches for the lights and the cabling!

I think the Winch Bumper is for a defender, as the mounting brackets are for vertical bolting but I'm sure I can modify it to fit :)

and I may have a 300tdi to break, as the old mans has just failed the MOT, so may have the gear & transfer boxes for mine & anything else I may need :)

Pics of purchases :) still got the cable, switches and another distribution block to come :)

Winch Bumper is in back of Disco so I'll take it out and get a photo when it's not raining, and roof bars have arrived, however they need modding to become a light bar :D

LED beacons - still got 2 to fit to light bar when finished

Didn't realise Plod used 200tdi discos as offacial Vehikkles?? Just that if it int a Plod (or other emergency services)car then those LEDs are illegally fitted. A "Beacon" if it's fitted must rotate at a fixed speed no more than 1 rotation per second. be visible from ALL directions Be orange in colour and may only be fitted and used when travelling at less than 35mph IIRC. and in very specific circumstances. None of which a normal car driver would be able to use to jusitfy the fitting of a beacon. LEDS are a Not classed as beacons.

They do flash, and they are orange, seen other vehicles with them on. i just don't like those roof mounted rotating ones! Ive got a video, will have to work out how to upload it direct

I int keen on the rotating beacons either but they are the only emergency lights that are legal on non emergency vehicles and even then they have to be removed when not been used in an emergency.
