Has the mech tried live data for crank speed signal, fuel pressure etc?

+1 as @backinblack posted fine mist while someone turns it over,too much and rings could snap they do get addicted to the stuff.Handy in an emergency but as others say go easy. They can get asthmatic and addicted to it

I know mate, sometimes you have to.It's not something I'd do regularly, it was just to see if it was a fueling issue.

Fixed that for you...maybe i sould get it transported to a main stealer.
Sounds like an electronic module issue, hence the binnacle dropping out. If you can list all the fault codes someone should be able to make sense of it.
It could well be the binnacle itself & this is one of the main modules for the car to run.
hes been doing my Motors for years, hes extremely knowledgeable and is an ex BMW master tech. Hes not working on it constantly to be fair...... he has a look when he gets a few hours to spare during quiet periods of the week.@Thewilbury is your mechanic receptive to suggestions or is he going to throw his toys out of the pram if we/you tell him how to do his job?
Is he familiar with the L322?
the binnacle wasnt working at one point and she still fired up. can you just swap it out or does it need coding?@Thewilbury...This guy knows his stuff weve sent P38 binnicals/bcm's etc to him from Portugal...

was over with him this evening...... the engine sounds so strong when cranking but just wont fire up.
yep......... no joy im afraid. it has to be something electrical or the BCM. carpet on drivers side was wet today when i called over.Did you try a bit of easy start or brake cleaner?

i like the sound of these guys@Rick-the-Pick Or @martyuk are your go to guys on electrics...Rick is Callrova on the internet cant remember what Martys is but Marty helped us sort an electrical problem that 2 garages and 7 months of wasted time...we spent on and off a week then overnight a post from him 2hrs later sorted...
