hi all,
ill apologize in advance for the long winded post but i need help and my mechanic is stumped too
I purchased a 2006 L322 HSE td6 auto diesel with 134,000 miles on the clock on 13th of December as a bit of a Christmas present to myself.
i got a really good deal and took it on test drives on two separate days and all seemed good. previous owner said it had no issues, new gearbox, starter motor and 4 new air suspension struts fitted and he seemed genuine.
i had it exactly 12 hours when driving on the motor way the instruments stopped working, speedo, rev counter, fuel gauge and temp gauge all shut off. heated seats stopped working, heater stopped working and power steering went. i pulled over and turned off the ignition, waited a few seconds and Turned it back on, everything went back to normal and I continued my journey home. just as i was pulling into my drive way the same thing happened, however when i turned the ignition off it struggled to start and took a few attempts to get it going again also the instrument cluster, heater and power steering failed to reset this time. I put it in D and it appeared not to select a gear. I put it in R and it moved backwards as normal, I tried D again and it moved forward this time. I took it for a quick spin around the village and noticed the odometer wasn't increasing as I drove along the road. I did about 8 miles which didn't register at all. I drove it home, it was late so I went to bed.
next morning the Range Rover wouldn't start at all. I arranged to have it collected by my mechanic on 16th of December and its been in his workshop ever since.
Fuel pumps, Starter motor, Battery, filter and fuses have been checked and all good.
its still refusing to start.
and ideas guys?
Thanks in advance
Mark
