Hi all, looking at the mudflaps at the rear end of the side steps the top fixing (which is plenty long enough) looks like it should go through the conveniently placed hole in the chassis outrigger but it would mean bending the other bracket (circled in pic), any thoughts ?

I have just been underneath my son's D2 making a bracket up for the side step, non of the brackets are bolted through the little hole on the out rigger. They only thing holding them on is the large nut attached to the long stud coming down on one of you pictures.
I don't see the point of them mudflaps except trap mud and rot out the bracket.
I haven't refit them, have the bracket on the otherside to repair at some point.

Sorry we are talking about two different things, I can see you step bracket does have the nut and bolt fitted.
Mud flap bracket didn't bolt into the out rigger, mind you maybe it should?

It's not supposed to go through the hole in the outrigger with the steps fitted. How you've got it is correct.

The hole is where the splash guards bolt to when steps aren't fitted though.

I've made a stainless (rustless) steel mudflap bracket to replace the original, I'll have to nut/bolt it instead of the original stud/nut, out of a bit of scrap I had kicking about, one more to do.
