Cheers @mikescuba hopefully should!

One thing I'd like to add is, the other day I was looking into going to Rates Billing in Portugal and found there is a ferry that goes from Southampton to Santander in Spain for a similar cost in fuel! Takes about 35 hours or so but means not having to sort out hotels/camping on the way through France plus 10+hours less driving.

Just a thought! :)

Have done that trip a few times, definitely better than jumping off at St Malo (or elsewhere in France)...last trip was only 24hrs each way, the first(in April 2009) was like 'The Love Boat'...a bit weird to say the least and it was 36 hrs....as everyone had some 'coin' in their pockets I guess and the ferry company maybe wanted some of that?? Easter would be best time to travel to Tangiers, any later and you might get caught up in the annual migration from Europe, through Spain to Tarifa or Algeciras.....I have travelled to Morocco many times, during those periods of 'mass migration' it is hellish!!

I have another English friend out that way. I will have to see how close he is to you when I get back. We are in our camper at the moment at lac aiguebelette for a few days so I don't have all my addresses to hand.

Just some advice from our great Governmental institution....always worth keeping abrest of the situation and follow their travel/medical insurance advice or you may get a nasty shock...

Any computer wizards on here?
Ken a Morocco veteran has some maps but can't get them to me. See email ( Hi Mike, Have tracks for Morocco now on google earth pro - and just wondered if you knew how I can send them to you. I know it can be done but don't know how to do it. Presumably you have google earth!.)

No joy Mike even with Mapsource.

Track to beach is at N28 50.173 W10 50.491 on N1 a few miles north of Tan Tan.

When at cliff top the track down to the beach is behind the castle at N28.57.771 W10 36.727.

Beach exit is at N28 57.711 W10 36.727.

Then there is a really good cliff top track heading north for quite a long way.

If I can help with any other info--

If you remember where we turned back "lost" in the mist that is one of the best tracks in the area just head west and keep the line of hills to your right.

in an email,

a .gpx is basically the route info , you can then load this onto a device that has view ranger or another map app on a phone , ipad etc, that has the base maps already on it.

It is how greenlane routes can be shared easily.

Cheers

My Defender goes in for its Control Technic ( MOT) next week. Lets see what turns up. Now time to start seriously thinking of getting it together. Painted the roof rack. Checked the CB ariel and CB set. All seem to be in working order. Got a loud speaker this time as last time couldn't hear anything.

Pleased to report my Defender passed the Control Technic ( French MOT). My copilot arrives next week from the UK to help start to get the Defender in Shape for Morocco. Re instal the roof rack. Don't think I will bother with the Snorkel as I have no intentions of wading. I will just carry an extra air filter. Refit the LED bar on the roof rack and I will have to buy some new spots for the bumper.
Once roof rack is on I can start checking the CB radio and antenna.

Don't know yet Mike still not got vehicle matriculated yet...can't get it running on all 8cyl just fitted electronic dizzy this week going to start again tomorrow and go through everything fuel supply as well...hopefully get to test next week everythings organised and paid for right down to number plates...will keep informed...cheers Rob

Just in case anyone's plans change, we'll be in Algeciras on 11 April and looking to get the first available ferry to T-Med. We're a solo vehicle but happy to team up for some of the time if routes and ambitions match. We'll be in Morocco for 4 weeks, 3rd trip, aiming to go north to south (southern border of W Sahara) off-road and wild camping AMAP. We like the off-grid style of travel, avoid hotels and only use campsites to get wi-fi and a hot shower.
Not wanting to hijack Mike's plan, just an option....
