Morning if my gearbox has too much oil in would that cause it to stall as well ??
normal level when running is about half way up the sump, youd have to add a good bit more before the sump was full and oil could be effected ,foamed oil does effect box operation ie gear changes etc and over pressurisation but not stalling

Attention Davey Royal. If you don't answer questions you are not going to sort your problems. What is the tickover speed of your engine. How did you check gearbox oil level?

Hi it ticks over at 900 revs and the oil level was well over the mark on the dipstick 1st thing this morning before I started it I can't see any leaks from any were

What is the correct amount in litres ??
9 from empty but you cant empty a box fully without stripping it and draining torque converter, 4.5 litres is usual amount needed for a refill after draining the box during a service, it can be difficult getting a good stick reading after a refill and take several attempts as it must be done whilst engines running

Tick over should be 750 +- 50. Idle is to high. Has it always been that high? Someone may have raised it with diag to mask a quantity servo problem. You need someone with proper diag to look at it for you. Always check TF with gearbox cold. Start engine run through gears a couple of times put in neutral or park then dip.
