Mirrors: Wider, extensions, wing, what?

I'm about to get my Landy dressed up with it's new UK registration plates and paper and be road legal in the UK. But it's LHD.

Pulling onto motorways and out of junctions that are not square isn't too fun so I was considering that I could do to improve the visibility, seems like I have a few options:

I could do this:

110 Double cab, but you can't see out the back.

Middle window help with the vis for sure. I was just thinking of ways to make it as easy as possible.

No, it changes every time you bolt and unbolt (Had 'em for towing the caravan) and can be a pig to move the viewing area to a good position.

Or put something forward on the wing, like the landy's of old.

The trouble with forward wing mirrors is the size of image .. you spend so much time working out what's there, you've missed the gap ..

Anyone have any suggestions?

Aahh...I see.
A bigger mirror head (I have them) would help.
Tip- do the single 4mm cap head screw up really tight. The larger area made mine fold down at speed unless they were super tight.
Also I replaced that screw with a stainless one because the mild steel ones that come with the heads turn into a rusty blob and round off easily if you come to re adjust a couple of years later.

After a few near misses, I got a pair of these for my hardtop http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/mud-blind-spot-mirror.html. They are great but as above need to be really tight otherwise they move in high winds.

Bolt on bits do a set of mirrors that are like conventional ones, as in the mirror points horizontally rather than vertically if you now what I mean. Don't know if the would help.

May sound extreme, but what about converting to RHD?

Otherwise, a rear view camera could be simple and effective.

I'm keeping the car LHD as it will be an expedition vehicle for the future and that will mean it will be most useful in the long run the way it is.

Makes sense.

You can also get mirrors to maunt on the wing to enable you to see forward as if you were sitting RHD. I used one in France once, and it was very handy. Dousn't solve the problem you raised, but does help driving on the "wrong side" of the road.

Yeah what he says and put the blind spot mirror but at the bottom as the whole thing shakes, it is not very ridged. Thinking of putting the original back and sticking a blind spot mirror on instead.
