Usually if the pump has been retimed it's because of stretched chains.Have you got a stethoscope or a long screwdriver you can use to locate where the rattling is coming from?Spoke to a firm called feather diesel in Halifax who advised me it’s probably a worn pump that’s been timed incorrectly to account for whatever’s worn.
Gonna check the modulation later tonight on the nanocom just to see where it’s at and update on here.
I can give a listen with a long screwdriver, my train of thought was that of stretched chains due to the car starting fine with the old engine until it blew up on me.Usually if the pump has been retimed it's because of stretched chains.Have you got a stethoscope or a long screwdriver you can use to locate where the rattling is coming from?
Worn FIP's usually show error codes and/or the MIL light.I can give a listen with a long screwdriver, my train of thought was that of stretched chains due to the car starting fine with the old engine until it blew up on me.
This is what I’ve been trying to decide for all this time if it was the pump or the chain but there’s no easy way to find out hence my post to dive in with the chain.
German engineering for youThat's the ****ty driveshaft nut to replace the one that's nearly rusted away on the BMW 320i I've got a new reluctor ring to fit.
No error codes but I’ll check again tonight and doesn’t sound too horrible when on but I’ll check with the nanocom.Worn FIP's usually show error codes and/or the MIL light.
They can sound like a bag of nails if the modulation is way out.
