Would this be any good or a waste of money?

It will do nothing on a P38 diesel, so a waste of money. Nanocom is the best.http://www.diagnostic-world.com/pag...181-z=960089&p=129341.cfm#content_item_129341

Yes.https://www.nanocom-diagnostics.com/product/ncom06-range-rover-p38-edc-diesel-kit
Would this be the one to get?
+1 ^^^^^Yes.
Just had a quick look at car, couldn't spend very long at it but the hoses seemed fine.
Will be weekend before i get near it again.
Might just bite the bullet and order nanocom...
Yeah ,hopefully will be here by weekend and I can have a play with itStill getting the nanocom though, right?....
It's a range rover and this was it just having a poke at you.....you're gonna need it when that day comes when it decides it wants to test the limits of your patience and sanity
I did well not to have a nanocom for over a year, until I recently bought one and after changing my alternator I ended up have to put the fip code back into the BECM.... The worst thing was I don't know what happened for it to be lost after replacing the alt'????Yeah ,hopefully will be here by weekend and I can have a play with it
A messy disconnect of the battery can scramble the FIP code.I did well not to have a nanocom for over a year, until I recently bought one and after changing my alternator I ended up have to put the fip code back into the BECM.... Glad I'd bought it in the end.

true and true!A battery going completely flat on the car or losing a cell will certainly cause loss of sync.
was thinking of putting an isolator/cut off switch on battery,is it any harm to disconnect battery when not in use?A battery going completely flat on the car or losing a cell will certainly cause loss of sync.
In principle, not a problem, but you may find it loses sync occasionally. A solar panel the keep the battery charged is a better solution IMO.was thinking of putting an isolator/cut off switch on battery,is it any harm to disconnect battery when not in use?

it was a bit of an impluse buy, have no real use for it so it will probably be lying up most of the time.Best to keep battery topped up, it depends on what you mean by not in use.
