yeah, cos im a science boy, I can do DNA tests on em lol :)

Check this out, I only went and fixed the drill. Mole grips, against floor and in fwd position, wond it self free. Not at all safe! This is a keyless chuck, but if you dont push up on the bottom plate, it locks up tight. Well this is what I have learnt from looking at the bosch model, which is different but similar principle. I also found the screw, where I can undo it! The bosch doesnt have a screw tho. So now I have big beasty drill and baby drill.

check out how I did it! the mole gripes were driven into the floor.

nope, I was drilling some concret balcony of mine to put some trellis up a couple of years back. Its been stuck that long lol. I can only drill things of that dia. or borrow a drill Now, however im freee to do what ever! yeah yeah! so screw and raw plug which acts helps pull screw into bonnet area and pull snorkel in. What size screws to use tho? do they have to be tap in. And actually, what is the diff between tap in screws and normal? I got some 2 inch screws, would that be a little over the top?

self tappers yeah :) ok, so no pre drilling? so trying to drill normal 1.5" screws into the wing is a bad idea? that was my plan, or would you say they are still to big

If it was me that was doin' it up, ah'd get the rusty bits back tae shiny metal afore ah primed and painted it;)

Gook work, looks like your getting the tools you need together. I'd echo what Buster say about the rust. If you putting the effort in may as well do a top job as a half job. Use a chemical rust treatment before priming, you don't want to waste your effort.

Them Mantec carriers are a great bit of kit.

been using rust treatment. Got some stuff from machine mart, says you should place it on metal, wait, brush, wait, brush etc to keep active. I just throw the little bits in neat soluttion and every so often give it a brush. Or dilute with water for biger object in buckets etc. seems to work. works a treat! my grinder with wirebrush cup is amazing! I dont know how I lived without it :)
