whether you've been stopped or not the point is the desert is private property and as such it's illegal to drive on the site. If you get a pull (much easier in a landy than it is on a bike) they can seize and crush your vehicle.

Stick to legal lanes and pay and play sites That way you don't go giving 4x4 users a bad name. trying to keep what few lanes we do have is hard enough without tossers driving where they like and getting lanes closed.

i appreciate what your saying and agree with you, anyway were are these play sites, i asked for some advice nobody seems to be interested im sure thats what this site is all about ?

Lots of pay and play sites as well as plenty of legal lanes to drive. My advice would be to join a local club and arrange to go out with them as they'll know the best places to go. try mud club they have a lot of members in your area. just do a google I'm sure you'll find plenty of links

as for your noise level, personally i'd chop the box's off and weld a strait through pipe to replace, dont see the point unless yer got somthing with a bit of poke like an RPI or somthing. even myself now, am struggling for places to go and just try and keep it legal mate, not worth the hassle, oh and if yer gonna have it stupidly load you can count the lanes out.
