"Today whilst resetting the cruise control switch above the brake pedal switch, i noticed i now have a few drips of my fresh new blue anti freeze right below the heater matrix pipes "

If its a V8 RED anti freeze is better than BLUE. Blue isnt good for alloy engines so my local motor factor told me.

the old V8 was designed to use ethylene glycol anti-freeze later versions may have used OAT(organic acid technology) but its a 1940s buick engine...i don't think they use OAT now let alone back then!

BTW ethylene glycol can be any colour as can OAT.......

Just saying what i was told. Dont shoot the messenger.:p

As long as the anti freeze is formulated for aluminium engines it does not matter what colour it is. I think you will find that most is these days. But it certainly was not years ago. Using standard anti freeze in alloy engines grew little plants inside the engine and destroyed them. Modern anti freeze contains inhibitors that prevent this from happening.

Just going back to the battery side of things, on both occasions I have needed to do mine I haven't needed to disconnect the multiple plug from the air bag, or touch any of its wiring.

That's up to you my friend. RAVE quite clearly states that the system must be disarmed by disconnecting the battery and waiting 10 minutes for the capacitor to discharge before touching any SRS equipement. If you want to play with something that can take your head off that's your business. You don't have to take the plug out before you put your dick in the mincer. But if it starts up you'll wish you had.
