LT230 PTO cover plate

Hello chaps - bit of an unusual one!

I need a cover plate for the back of the LT230R in my Td5 110.

I've taken off the PTO unit that was fitted for my winch (for sale here)

So I need the PTO cover for the back of it. I have got hold of one of these;

Cover - Genuine Land Rover at www.rimmerbros.co.uk (FTC3178)

But it doesn't fit properly.. only 3 of the 6 bolts line up.

So does anyone have, or know of where, I can get the get the correct PTO cover plate for my LT230R? Or even just find the correct part number for it?

Are you sure it doesn't fit? I am sure you are right but they only fit one way round...

Pretty sure I tried it in every different orientation, it seems the hole centers are at a slightly different position than what is required.

Maybe the plate you bought is of questionable quality then.

Have you got any breakers near you? Might be able to get a second hand one at a good price.

it should fit, the holes are not concentric so just try it every seperate hole, keep rotating it round till it all lines up, keep trying, it stumped me for a while to lol

you may even have plate the wrong way round ,they do all fit

You guys were correct - I had the plate oriented the wrong way.
Seems the holes are positioned in such a way that it will only bolt on ONE way!
... Does make you wonder what the engineers at Leyland were thinking when they decided that would be a good idea

they didnt think, thats the problem

so bearing plate in front of the cover plate is fitted in correct orientation is line bored for bearing fitted to case apart from the oil drain

That's about the going rate for a full kit - they are still quite sought after by all sorts... popular with tree surgeons I'm told!
