and the problem with that is that the pressure will only ever equalise thus giving in effect two half tanks???

you need a pump, specially designed ones that dont ignite the gas!
If you have the bottle well above the vehicle tank then all the liquid will flow into your ve hicle, but dont forget to tell the authorities about the tax you owe them.:)

Its a liquid, albeit with a partial pressure of vapour above it. If it was a gas, then yes the pressure would be equal all round, but since its a liquid it will flow. And it would do so far more rapidly than overnight! (Since its based on the viscosity, size of fittings, etc).
 
On second thoughts, the way prices of 4X4's have fallen I am not sure if I should be spending £1500 on my P38, especially if there is the danger of only getting 22-24mpg equivalent!.
