LPG conversion in Deisel??

The engine could be running gas over Diesel?
For a start you would need a spark plug to ignite the LPG if there was no diesel being burnt so a conversion would be so expensive it would be cheaper to stick a V8 in there!

I was wondering if they'd replaced the original 300 with a V8 then done the conversion to LPG.
But the advert seems to suggest otherwise...

You can use LPG on diesel engines. But whereas on petrol the LPG injection replaces the petrol fuel, in a diesel it is injected as a mix with the diesel fuel.

It's not the most reliable form of combustion at this point in time though.

Just incase your interested.
She wants £4600 fr it and has that set as reserve on ebay. I was going to take a look but quite honestly its a hell of a lot for a C reg when the technology isn't full proof as stated.
Have heard that from a couple of companies that do the conversions and as this was done a little while ago it would probably be less reliable.
Also a very small lpg tank from the sound so would be back to station a fair bit.
Nice woman though.

Well, in all fairness you don't need a huge LPG tank, because the mix is only about 25% of the total fuel injected into the cylinders.

Compared to an LPG petrol, where more LPG is used than petrol would be, due to the lower octane of LPG, you would probably have quite a bit more range out of gas.

Infact, the maths in theory would mean for a 90ltr diesel tank, you would only need a 22.5ltr LPG tank to match the range you would get from a full tank of diesel.

But as I said, LPG and Diesel isn't an exact science. There's lots of fine tuning to it, and the benefits aren't always worth it. If set up wrong it can cause serious damage to an engine too.

funny enought this woman has told me she doesn't hardly use the lpg. maybe there's a reason why!! but she seems to think its worth someone paying the extra 1k+ to get it.
