OK, so I am having a few problems with the P38, mostly of my own making. I am thinking of buying a second hand ignition barrel, key and door handle. Is the ignition barrel common to all models? Mine is a 99 2.5 diesel

If you have the log book you can go to the dealers and have a new key made.
Otherwise, the key is programmed to the becm as well.

Thanks for that, the car had two keys, one for the door and one for the ignition and neither worked remotely. So I think it has been messed about with in the past, just looking for the cheapest practical option.

One other way would be to find a becm with keys and ignition barrel for your engine and your trim level. Then it would all match but the fuel pump code will need programming to the becm. They certainly didn't make it easy.

And lower mileage than the clock unless you want a shock.

Tried syncing the keys? One must work with the BECM?
