I have owned my 2001 Vogue for twelve years & for the first six years of ownership never encountered a single problem with it responding to the key fob. I then moved from a detached house in a rural location with parking on the drive into a house in town where I had to park on the street. Until I figured out the problem I became on first name terms with a couple of RAC guys & a dab hand at entering the EKA. I also acquired a Syncmate & a brilliant compact jump start battery. A Gen 3 remote receiver cured both loss of sync & flat batteries so I have never encountered another problem. There is a cheaper RF filter device now intermittently available but I don't regret spending £250 for peace of mind.

Owners handbook from RAVE below the sync procedure is different, but +1 on what Keith said in post #3. I have used the same procedure several times.

That's the method I always use. Might have to repeat a few times. It requires working door-actuator microswitches and the RF receiver to be plugged in and working. If unplugged how the fob up to the little antenna in the rear quarterlight window when pressing its buttons.

Resolution????

So, to conclude this episode, AA came to tow it, decided they couldn’t and sent a lorry to pick it up. Guy hooked her on and we pulled her on the flat bed, drove the 2 miles home and I jumped in to let her off the flat bed. Whilst doing this I accidentally pressed the key fob……………… and the doors locked. Pressed again and they opened………stuck them in the barrel, and she started up!!!!!

I have no words, spoke to a friend and the best he could come up with was the battery acid level was low and the slight slope I was sitting on didn’t giver her enough juice, giggling her about sloshed the battery acid about and as a result she’s got enough power to go again.

The maddest bit is, my parrot Bluetooth packed in 3/4 month ago and that’s came back to life!

mental!

RF interference. A lot of security cameras and so forth use 433 MHz. Wireless weather station is what was messing mine up when I had the original RF receiver.

Sorry guys I know this has been asked a million times because I’ve spent hours reading all the threads to find the answer but to no avail.

So…..

Key fob batterys got replaced yesterday more than 1 minute and I’ve lost sync. Tried the sync procedure both pre 97 and post 97 but sure mines is passive as it is 2001

I can still open with central locking on the key blade but ‘engine disabled’ ‘press remote’ when I try to start her up.

Key fob blinks when inserted so somethings happening, also blinks rapid when pressing button whilst in the ignition barrel but can’t get her to start.

Any ideas, ohhh also I don’t have my EKA code but if I’m reading the posts right that’s not the issue and the dash Isint asking for it.

Any advice much appreciated, or if there’s anyone in North Lanarkshire who could assist it would be much appreciated!

Sorry, better add She’s a 2.5 diesel

If the FOB is not unlocking the doors, then BECM to ECU is not the problem. If the EKA code doesn't work then the problem is likely to be the drivers door lock micro switches.

Hi,

Pass mate I’m not technical hence being on here but Datatek knows what’s what.

from what little I do know you need to check the BECM is the original and not been replaced, think you can do this by taking the serial off it and checking with LR. If it has been swapped then that may be your problem.

There was a boy on Facebook last week selling a nanocom for £300 but if you don’t know how to use it I’d advise caution.

Lastly there’s a boy in Wales also on Facebook how seems to be the ‘key man’ hope you get her going!!
