I know this has been aired previously, but I've lost the only set of keys I had for my Defender. Is it true that I can take my V5 into my local dealer's and get a new set? It seems too good to be true, I was expecting to have to get new door and ignition locks.

and if a newer one, bend over when it comes to paying - it will hurt!

being serious - anything on the lost keys that can be traced back to home/Landy - if so, lock change is a must. Some insurance policies will cover

Oh, and :welcome2:

Do me a friggin favour:mad: Another I've lost my keys from a first post!

If you've lost you keys to a new Landy, go ask the figgin steeler.

You should have just asked for tips on how to steel a fender. We're all very helpful on here:D:mad:

To be fair he says that he has the v5, he wouldn't have that if it was nicked.

I'd advise anyone to get spares if you only have 1 set.
I got replacement fob and key last year with programming from main stealer for £79!

So we believe everything first posters say?

And you've never heard of counterfeit V5's?

Or someone selling a landy, then stealing it back again? Old owner would still have the V5.

You could also claim you've lost a V5, get a replacement, sell the vehicle yet keep one legit copy of the V5 to claim a new set of keys from...

Fair comment but on the same note do we accuse a new member af being a thief when they could genuinely have a problem?

If they can sell the vehicle and walk into the main dealer with the v5, surely thats a flow in the system.

We've all been first posters and i'm sure it will be a very small percentage that have turned out to be liars and thieves.

My point being, the guy asked a question which MAY well be genuine, i just gave the oposite opinion of stuballsed. Be a ****e world if we all had the same opinions

Guess i'm just very judgemental and quick to jump to conclusions  It is a bit of a 'to the point first post' about a subject which is relating to the theft of vehicles.

I have to agree it is, so if your reading this op get yourself to the introduce yourself bit and tell us about yourself:D:D
