well yesterday I found a dead mouse and its nest in vent air hose under the dash , which although not great was not unexpected in a 39 year old landy.

later whilst working on the back end I was cutting out the only rust hole on the whole chassis (the size of a 10p) and found yup you guessed it another mouse nest complete with mouse skeleton, I had to pull it out with needle nose pliers through the little hole lol

its a right bloody wildlife sanctuary my 72 lol  :p

I found a partially rotted, quite squishy dead baby bird in my front winch tray today... Not a lot left of it. Mostly bones, feathers, and some other squishy "melt as you touch it" substance.

Fished it out with the BBQ tongs :D

Was the green bin the right one? They do take meat, but it was mostly feathers and bones! Ah well.

I thought it was just thrown up by the wheel , then thought it was a mice or rats nest but no.......

I wonder if they are worth anythin, some peeps collect em dont they?

Nerd alert warning:

Bright blue eggs will be a robin.

Pale blue a blackbird

cream with a chocolate dusting like a Cadbury mini egg is a wren.

Cream with brown/rust speckles is house sparrow.

Finch eggs are very similar to sparrow eggs. At which point you'd need to look at the shape of the nest and where it was to get an idea and I can't remember the rules for that. What I do recall is that finch eggs are more round in shape than a chicken egg, whereas a sparrow tends to be similar or more elongated.

I doubt you have Thrush. These are usually a blue between the pale blue of a blackbird and vivid blue of a robin but larger.

Tit eggs are also very similar to sparrow eggs, cream with rust speckles.

I think I am right in recalling that Tits tend to include dog hair/fluff etc in with sticks when making their nest which tends to be a tell tale sign.

by the sounds of it they are wren eggs then , although there was a fair bit of dog hair in the nest!

I hope thats the last wildlife I find for now!
