The codgers about!

A Landy driving codger of course.

I recently purchased a 1990 RRC 3.9 Gas Guzzling (no LPG for this old man) V8 monster. Plus, she's a Vogue so has all the bells and whistles too.

Now you may be wondering why I didn't go for a brand new Range Rover, without bragging, I could afford it, but would a new one have the charm of my old girl ? I doubt it.....

The Range Rover isn't my main car (if it were my daughter wouldn't be getting much in the way of inheritance!), for that purpose I have my Pug 405 1.9 Turbo Diesel which I bought brand new in summer of 1994 and in my opinion was the best money I ever spent on a car. It gets over 40 miles per gallon, looks good, has enough electronics to keep me happy, but is basic enough in its IDI engine to still be puffing away after over 300,000 miles. That's a good un.

But, I'm not too unimpressed with my RRC either which has 180,000 miles.

In my profile I said I was semi-retired, because compared to how much I used to work, I practically am retired (I didn't stop living in the fast lane out of choice, the old ticker made that decision for me back in 2010). I co-own a small car sales lot with my friend which makes some money, not a lot, but keeps us both (he's an old bugger too) going to stop us from completely seizing up.

The wife still works as a home help, because, like me, she would probably seize up too if she had nothing to do all day.

If you're interested, she drives a 1991 Rover 827 SLi (Honda V6).

So I've pretty much lived up to my life-long reputation of never taking a breath, but oh well, you know more about me now!

The last thing you probably want to know, is my age... Well, I'm not letting that secret go easily...

1+58+2-1+30-11+1-19+1-3 You do the maths!
