Some sites allow you to do a basic HPI check, just the vehicle details
though, anything more and you have to pay. Not sure of the sites, try searh
google for "free hpi" or something.

Go to the RAC's web-site, sign up for the free "My RAC" service and then you
can access their basic vehicle details check.

That's the one I always use.

Try it. You just put in the reg, and it returns the car model.
