Tremendous, yes I read you advising that earlier and that's exactly what I'll do. I suppose I could just solder the new wires alongside each other and put some shrink sleeve over it.
I take it you mean self-vulcanising?use self adhesive sleeving.
I'll google it. Is it better than heat shrink?use self adhesive sleeving.
it is heatshrink.... just with an adhesive lining, so when it shrinks, the adhesive melts and makes a solid watertight joint.I'll google it. Is it better than heat shrink?

OK, I've tried to follow this thread as I want to improve my headlights, but I'm afraid I've got a bit lost with all the chatter about specs. Can any of the experts here present, now that the debate appears to be over, tell me what I need to make the "Defender wiring loom" marketed by Paddocks under the "Boomslang" name work in a 1995 300Tdi 110 Defender?
I must say that I'm not impressed that a major supplier can market something like this that doesn't do what it purports to do without some extra bits'n pieces being required. Good to know that there's expertise here that can overcome that, but why should it be necessary when something's marketed as "plug'n play"?
I'm no expert, but I might be fitting mine tomorrow. Depends on the weather and how I'm feeling. I've had a very bad cold virus this week. Started feeling better this afternoon (Well, less bad) If I do something with it I'll take some pictures of my installation.OK, I've tried to follow this thread as I want to improve my headlights, but I'm afraid I've got a bit lost with all the chatter about specs.
