Hi, I need the advice of a proper mechanic -not the type who can't go to work because his wife hasn't ironed his his white diagnostics coat!

M.O.T. time for my TD5 Auto Disco, -just after Christmas,-great! everything seems to be O.K. Tyres, exhaust, breaks etc...... but!

I seem to have every single light on the the dash on practically!

First the 3 Amigo's, they've been there for about 6 months, I had the brakes looked at and everything was declared O.K. -"a sensor in the hub probably".

Next the automatic transmission oil temperature light, again, had it checked out -plenty of oil in there and the right shade of pink and not hot, this was diagnosed as probably the sensor, -I didn't have it done at the time as there wasn't a car for me to use to go to work and apparently to change this sensor it means two radiators out!

-And finally the S&M lights are flashing intermittently, this is new but I've been advised it's usually the "x y" box on the gearbox to be replaced?

O.K. this is my question -assuming all this is correct how much should I expect to sort this out and get a new ticket, last year I went main dealer and got so stitched up! - I'd like to hear from somebody in the real world!

Also, is it absolutely necessary to get these lights all put out for the M.O.T.? if everything is working O.K. ? -I can live with or without the warning lights!

Is there a garage that anyone knows of in the Gt Yarmouth area who are understanding in a Discovery type of way -I really can't afford a main dealer again this year!

Thanks any help will help me sleep tonight! -Nick.

Hi

Have you had the vehicle code read?
what yr vehicle is it?
I may sound daft but what is 3 amigos?

I'm a trained mechanic if it is a case of just swapping parts then could you do it yourself
I'm based in norwich but I don't know my way around a disco only my p38

Have you tried jsf in norwich I dnt know of any places in yarmouth

warning lights, -if everything is O'K. except the sensors do all the warning lights need to be out for an M.O.T. ?
-is it easy to just remove the lights!

Have you tried charging your battery??? A battery with low charge can still start the motor but will feg up the ECU etc causing various lights to come on
