Hi all, purchased some light guards for the front of my 200 Tdi, seems to me that the angles that the guards meet the front of the wing are wrong. The top of the guard where it bolts to the wing above the light surround would probably fit good enough, but I think the bottom needs to be cut to allow mounting in the little hinge brackets and to be able to swing the guard down to service the lights without taking the paint off.
Or am I being a snowflake and I should just get on with it?

If you do have a prang, you will end up with two holes in your wing at the bottom. Send photo to paddocks and instist on replacements that fit. ( unless they are all like that).
How are tey fixed at the bottom? If same as top, theres no way it will work.

These are mine. BP items (also bought from Paddocks) but I have had them galvanised, no problems with fitting whatsoever.
Profile at the bottom edge is certainly different to yours.

Can't tell from your photo but do yours have the flat bar running widthways at the bottom?

I have sent photo's to Paddocks about a week ago, not had a reply yet. If I was being generous I would say they are waiting for their supplier to comment.
They are fixed at the bottom with 2 little plastic clips that locate a round bar to allow the guards to hinge down.

I have the Land Rover ones and they look the same as those but there’s a bar at the bottom that they swing down on.
Yes, as above they hinge down.

No, there is a round bar at the bottom, about 6mm dia from memory.

@frog hopper
Are yours hinged??
The link is for hinged items.
Better to have the hinged when you have to replace bulbs. ;)
Yes mine are hinged.

@frog hopper looking at it again, the odd angle of the cut at the bottom is to allow it to hinge down without binding. Once the clips and hinges are on, it will look right.
I will have another go with them tomorrow, maybe they are ok after all.

Very nice, to be honest I have spent more than enough on the old girl as it is, so bought what I thought were middle of the range guards. Knee deep in sorting out my home made center consul at the moment to install a radio and a cb, and a few switches, so this will now wait until later in the week.
Will have to get it done soon, I'm off on a mega green laning trip to Portugal in a weeks time.
