20150905_203715.jpg Hi just wondering if anyone could help with a leak which looks like its coming from back diff ( i think ) its not a great amount just worried it may cause some damage if not put right as it looks like its getting slightly worse.Fluid is quite yellowee & a bit tacky as well regards david

diff seal is worn and it might just need a new one it could mean flange is worn too were seal runs also could mean your getting some play in the bearings, you can check bearings by feeling for play there should be only rotational no up/down side to side etc,ftc5258 is the seal

Cheers could you please tell me where there should be no play...well up or down play.......cheers david
in the flange, the pinion is supported by 2 taper bearings ,these are slightly preloaded by the use of shims between the 2 bearings ,any play means preload has gone and pinion can move, which could be worn bearings amongst others
