Hello there

In need of info about the areas lanes or pointing in the right direction to a local group who are planning and outing.

Iv recently put together an off road Disco and want to use it. Basic stuff to begin with (don't want to break it straight away) planning to go to Tong in Feb but would be good to pick up some local knowledge.

Is it that bad!?

No it is all down to the driver really,i have been loads of times and never done anything too bad ,a few dents a few alternators and a starter then about 3 hours getting the mud off after going. All i am saying is if you DON'T want to damage it then don't go especially in a Disco or if you are prepared to accept some damage then go and you will have a great day out.Oh and a roof and side panel.

There is nothing wrong with them mate, but they have a lot of glass and big over hangs and if it has has a towbar fitted you will get hung up quite a lot.

My tow bar is a reassurance that I'm finally on the ground at Tong... think I've dug quite a few holes by smacking it into the ground :p

Don't go to Tong if you don't want to damage your car. It'll get scratched, wet, muddy, rusty and you'll probably smash a wheel/window/wing mirror if you have never been off roading before.
