Well I did go down there this morning to show my landy spirit, but unfortunately to no avail.
Problems being very deep ruts that would have got me stuck too, so reversed down back end to back end used a rope although could have done with being a proper tow strap, mine was left at the farm unfortunately.
But he was so bottomed out in the ruts my dorris just couldn't quite manage it, his disco is also heavier and I was having to pull him up hill on this very slippy/greasy wet grass/mud, unlike on other stuff where you can usually get grip with stones/gravel in the mud this surface had none.
So, we tried it with me in the ruts but stil no good, and I was beginning to get myself too far in them, so I crawled back out, its quite a tight space down there too.
My conclusions are, a winch would help if there was a big enough tree, dorris does not have enough grunt for his disco, and they shouldn't have gone out at night with one vehicle and no recovery equipment, but they know that....I believe James began to see this more as the morning progressed
But hey we all learn from our mistakes, and I tired anyway!! I know I don't have decades of land rover experience, but I gave it a go, we all did, and being 19 and owning my landy a year im still learning things as are they.
Maybe 2 vehicles would help, but the easiest option as far as I could see is get a tractor to tow them straight out, that would work no problems, they just needed to wait for one!!!

Thanks! I did, his disco was just stuck a bit too deep, and is a bit too heavy
would have been ok with 2 vehicles though I think and a ground anchor, but not just old dorris on her own!!

si drippy AND daft came down!! Cor that was fun! Hilifted the rear end out of the mud, and pushed it over out of the rut, then winched him back! Have taken LOADS of vids and pics, so will do an HB style compilimation!

I offered, but didn't object to the service, I never said anything about the service in fact cos I wasn't sure.........but maybe now it seems a good idea!! ahaha

Nobody 'objected' you ****head. Some people just thought it was pointless and potentially damaging to give what already existed and worked a name and formalise it in any way.
Yes, the people who thought the LZRS was a stupid idea offered to help which shows that it was ****ing pointless.
You want my opinion? I think you were ****ing lucky to get so many offers of help when people on here spend a lot of time giving advice on safe laning then a couple of young, over exuberant ****wits totally ignore it and get themselves stuck.
So mind your ****ing words Flump, no-one 'objected'. Quite a few people on here just don't feel the need to formally organise ABSA****INGLOUTELYEVERYTHING!
