Hello

I bought my first Landy 3 weeks ago, 'E' reg Defender 90 in 6 shades of blue:rolleyes:

I was beginning to think I had bought a good 'un, as the 2 water features it came with I have managed to suss.
Unfortunately the smugness was left in tatters today as I had about a pint of cold rain water land in my lap and then proceed to run down the inside of my knee high boots:eek:

Are all Defender owners slightly bonkers or just very wet most of the time!!!

Any way I love the car and aim to gradually restore it,or at least make it water tight:D
Hoping to learn how to 'off road' it soon.A thing I manage to do quite well (even tho Im sposed to stay on track) in my race car;)

Definitely both!

You're on a losing wicket there... according to one source "all defenders leak and come equiped with a spider, ex works". Mine definitely did, well, until the spider drowned!

Cheers and welcome,

well, until the spider drowned!

Don't worry mate, I'm sure you'll get another spider soon. If not, I'm sure Heidi can lend you one of her's, she's got plenty. Handy things: help keep the flies at bay (you know, the ones that live in the plants growing on the tailgate).

Oh yeah, welcome to the forum Sara ;)

sorry to say u will have leaks everywhere, what ever u do within reason, if u try to patch up a leak it will reappear somewhere else. if it rains all day, expect puddles in the footwells, damp the back and water dripping onto ur right foot from down the accelerator pedal. all part of being a land rover owner my friend. dont worry tho, the barn door gaps where rust has eaten the bottom of the doors will soon let it all out when u go round a corner

Thanks for the welcome :D

Latest update on my Landy.......heater fan has packed up , so not only is it raining on the inside every window is totally steamed up.
Every one at work is taking the **** but who cares, I dont dissolve in wet weather . I just need to find all my water proofs:p
