Landy 90 Not starting and warning light on all time

Yes !! - My experience of starter motors is that, during that time period they were made of proper materials, not reject chocolate like the modern stuff :rolleyes::mad::(:eek:. Saves money too, which is always a bonus !!

So, I'd much rather use old stuff than new stuff - IME, more of the new stuff is, ahem, "rubbish", than the old..... I'm being polite :D

I'd strip and clean the motor fully, and lubricate it all as you re-assemble it. Use good grease, ( we use Castrol ), and use good contact cleaner, (we use Ambersyl), plenty of vaseline on all the electrical contacts to keep the water out too :)
 
Hi everyone. Just to let you know the starter fitted and Landy fired up no problem. Before starting I did however remove a single electrical wire attached direct from the battery to the raptor panel that previous owner had installed. Once this was removed no dash lights showing and all seems well. So I only need to trace the problem with that single wire. Also fitted a new ignition switch just to be on the safe side. Thanks for all the help
