Hi there, I bought a d2 51 plate 3.9v8 es 4 weeks ago, 64000 miles with all mots for £1700, it is in mint condition. I bought it for a family trip to Cornwall which it did without a problem. We covered over 1000 miles whils away. its sat on the drive until last weekend when i went to Eastnor Castle lr show at the weekend, a 400 ish mile round trip, it never missed a beat. Its not on lpg and i dont intent it to be either, it a family weekend/camping vehicle, I reckon im getting 17-18 mpg. i have a few other vehicles including a 200tdi defender. I dont think it does much less mpg than fender, although thets only used for laning.If your happy with it (and lets face it a v8 will always put a smile on your face) then it doesnt really matter what it cost to buy or run

Just wished to give you an update as I have now owned this car for about 6 weeks. I took it in to a Land Rover garage for a full service and got 1 or 2 small bits done. Took it to an auto gas garage and gave that a service two. There were a few issues so called the garage who knocked £800 off the original price so paid about £4,700 in end.

It has been a great fun motor ( so far) I know you guys think I paid too much but I am loving it!

And Secondly, what is it with all this PRICE PRICE PRICE on lpg diesel, V8's, veggie oil, bio and all the other... Why so much moaning about it, if you cant afford to put the Right Fuel in it, then you probably should of bought a Robin Reliant or something along them lines... Disco 1 Diesel and 30-40 mpg and worth every penny..
