Dear Members.
At the age of 54 i thought it about time to get myself a proper 4x4, a name with great historical interest.
Ok i have not got a classic Landy used from the 2nd world war, where it was put through its paces on the land in order to keep our farmed produce available to the ones that mattered, I could only stretchto pay £1500 for a Freelander TD4 SE, which i will pick up tomorrow.
Being a newbie to the world of landrovers, can anybody tell me if i have gone for the right choice, and please be honest, look forward to your input.

The Land Rover isn't quite as old as WWll !
I only recently bought my first one too! Welcome, this has been a helpful forum for me so far (lost more questions to come).

Lord Hippo does eggsist. He's held with the highest esteem on ere and well respected by all ont forum.

It's true the land rover (the square ones that rust) weren't built int production until 1948. Never used in ww2 but there are a few films produced of that eara which incorrectly have tratters in them.

Buying a Freelander 1... Yer bought the second bestest land rover available. The bestest is a Freelander 2.

Have a look int Freelander section fer typical problems and fixes. Make yerself at home and put kettle on. Milk 2 sugars.
