I've got a few more jobs that need doing, the brake cylinders are taking it in turn to leak and the clutch needs adjusting and a few electrical issues need looking at, not that it matters the defender is staying now.

The works van never materialised but I'll catch up with you during the week I'm in Plymouth on a course but I'll give you a shout one eve.

Brake fluid may not look much better than the oil did, doesn't do the wheel cylinders any favours.

Just an update ended up pulling it to bits completely, the body was completely shot when I took it off it basically crumbled into many tiny pieces due to alot of rust on the underside of the panels. Currently undergoing a bit of tlc will be back on the road in the next 12 months I hope

Just an update….Better late than never. Turned out that despite my fettling mentioned further up in this post, The Minervas poor upbringing had caused considerable wear to the engine. I was in for a penny and a pound. Ended up giving it a refurb and another body came up at a good price rather than try to fix the original steel panels I treated it to some new….er ones. Since then she’s been to France,Cumbria, Coventry and North Wales. With a bit of Luck she will carry me to many more adventures in years to come!
