Fuel and Jerry can? Surely this wouldnt matter, as whoever has the fuel, must have paid for it somewhere. If the fuel is stolen, theres not a lot that could be done.

Aye, that's what ah was gettin' at;) What's to stop somebody comin' along and knickin' somebody elses fuel and stickin' it in their motor? If that said person who knicked the fuel hit you.. where's the claim?;)

that article is 2 years old. The gov back tracked on the retrospective tax - and I doubt the incoming one will re-instate it.

It makes any pre 2006 Disco/Range a better buy from a tax point of view.

Hi, just checked for my Range Rover Vogue 03 via the vehicle enquiry on the DVLA website and it's now gone up to £245 for the 12 months. Not as bad as it could have been I suppose!!
 
As long as the government stick to what they're honouring now, it should be fine. Wouldnt surprise me if they reverted to the 13 tax bands with no exceptions.. However, if they do start charging stupid money, they could possibly be "writing off" thousands of cars which cost more to tax, than they are actually worth...
