Hi landy lovers... are all l332's in road fund license 'm' (the higher one i think).. im buckling under the 'my ruddy p38 keeps breaking down' type of pressure again.... but i will try and fight it off again...... stuart..

An L322 is a March 2001 on car so will be an M. It will be taxed as a PC or DC (petrol or diesel) according to its emissions. Very rarely do you find a newer car has not had its emissions figure captured and therefore remain a plg like those up to March 2001.

I've had my P38 2.5D off the road since acquired : hoping to put back on in Feb. What's my tax ?

Depends on the date of registration. Check the Registration document for the Vehicle Category (half way down the inside left page). The tax class will be on it as well, further up.

If you go to the DVLA web site you can do a vehicle enquiry under online services. It'll give you the rates applicable.

It gives an answer but not always the right one.
;)
* Band K includes cars that have a CO2 figure over 225g/km but were registered before 23 March 2006

Band K is no longer used I beleive. The only way you can avoid the expensive A-M banding is to have a car dbefore 2001 (dont know exact date)

I was under the impression that the only reason government held this rule was because of the recession.

Anybody witha pre march 06 car tell me what they pay in Tax?

I pay £405 on an 06 110

Is that going to change next year? presume if it is, you wont have been notified yet..

Road tax will double for 1.2m drivers - Telegraph

At present, there are seven bands, with the least green vehicles paying a maximum of £400. However, the top band applies only to cars purchased after March 2006. The maximum that can be levied on cars bought before then is £210.

Over the next two years, the maximum levied on cars bought before 2006 will be lifted, pushing hundreds of thousands of vehicles into the top tax bands.

Some family cars will move up several bands and an estimated 1.2 million people will see their tax bills double.

Paul Watters, of the AA, said: "The Government presented the changes as a means of influencing people's purchasing decisions, but it turns out that they are also penalising hard-pressed families who have been running the same car for many years.''

Watch this space!

all a load of bollocks, if they gave a **** then they would only tax fuel.
just another gang **** tax

What about having your road tax and insurance all included in the price you pay for fuel..
That way, it wouldt be possibel to drive a vehicle without "taxing" it - no fuel, no drive
You cant be hit by an uninsured driver, as if the car has fuel its "insured"
You effectively pay as you drive. People who do high miles might not like it so much. People who do next to no miles would love it.

You wouldnt have to tax two or three vehicles when you only drive one (I have 2 cars and a motorbike, all taxed, even though I can only use one at any time - hardly fair)

I see a flaw here . we would all pay same, regardless of d.d. on licence or whatever . not fair on us with clean licences etc.

I reckon the insurance would only be minimum 3rd party, you could then pay a top up to your required level which would still be dependant on your driving record. It would have to work something like that or the insurance companies would never sign up to it, cause of all the lost business.
